GO Pass October 2026 runs from Tuesday, October 6, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, November 3, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Every trainer gets the free track automatically. The headline rewards are a Kyogre encounter on the free track and a Lucky Trinket as the final reward of the paid GO Pass Deluxe.
Most of this pass works like any other month. Two parts need planning: the Lucky Trinket, which has friendship requirements and its own expiry date, and the final weekend, when the daily GO Points limit is removed.
This guide covers what the announcement confirms, what it leaves out, and how to get the most out of the Trinket in particular.
Confirmed Details
Everything in this section comes from the official GO Pass: October announcement.
Dates and deadlines
There are five separate dates, and they’re easy to confuse:
- October 6, 10:00 a.m.: the pass starts.
- October 31, 12:00 a.m. to November 1, 11:59 p.m.: no daily limit on GO Points.
- November 3, 10:00 a.m.: the pass ends. No more GO Points after this.
- November 5, 10:00 a.m.: unclaimed pass rewards expire.
- November 8, 11:59 p.m.: the Lucky Trinket expires, regardless of when you claimed it.
All times are local.
Free track vs. Deluxe
The free track includes a Kyogre encounter (Shiny is possible), Rare Candy XL, a Premium Battle Pass, and a Lucky Egg.
GO Pass Deluxe adds a Lucky Trinket, a Super Incubator, and additional Pokémon encounters. It costs US$7.99, or US$9.99 for Deluxe + 10 Ranks, which awards enough GO Points to reach Rank 11. Prices follow your local currency tier, and availability may vary by region.
You can upgrade to Deluxe at any point in the month and still claim Deluxe rewards from ranks you’ve already passed. There’s no penalty for waiting to see how far you get on the free track first.
Web Store bonuses
Buying Deluxe through the Pokémon GO Web Store adds a gift with purchase:
- Deluxe: 10 Ultra Balls, 5 Max Revives, 1 Premium Battle Pass, 5 Max Potions.
- Deluxe + 10 Ranks: the same, but with 2 Premium Battle Passes.
- Deluxe Ultra Box (web-exclusive): 20 Ultra Balls, 10 Max Revives, 5 Premium Battle Passes, 10 Max Potions.
A Web Store purchase activates when the pass begins.
Milestone bonuses
These unlock as you rank up and stay active for the rest of the pass:
- Rank 1: one extra Candy when trading. Trainers level 31 and above also get one guaranteed Candy XL per trade.
- Rank 25: open up to 40 Gifts per day, receive up to 125 from spinning PokéStops and Gyms, and hold 10 more in your bag. Deluxe raises this to 50 opened, 150 received, and 20 more held.
- Rank 50: Daily Adventure Incense lasts twice as long.
- Rank 75: more Stardust and XP from hatching Eggs. The announcement doesn’t state the exact amounts.
How the Lucky Trinket works
- It’s a one-time-use item that makes you and one friend Lucky Friends immediately, without needing to be Best Friends.
- Your next trade with that friend makes both Pokémon Lucky. The Lucky Friend status clears after that trade.
- You must be at least Great Friends with the trainer.
- You can’t use it on someone you’re already Lucky Friends with.
- It doesn’t change trade distance. A normal trade still has to happen in person.
- Trainers can turn off the option to receive Trinkets in Settings, so a friend may have it disabled.
What the announcement doesn’t say
The post is silent on several things readers will want to know:
- Which rank the Kyogre encounter is on. It only states that Kyogre is a free-track reward.
- Kyogre’s moves, and whether the encounter can be traded.
- The normal daily GO Points limit, and how many ranks the pass has in total. The Trinket is described as the “final reward” without a rank number.
- The exact Stardust and XP increase at Rank 75.
If you’re planning around any of these, check in-game on October 6 rather than relying on last month’s pass.
What the Community Has Documented
These points come from community sources (Bulbapedia, GO Hub, and the Pokémon GO Wiki), not the announcement.
- Lucky Pokémon stats: the official Help Center only says Lucky Pokémon need “less Stardust” and are “more likely to be strong.” Community sources put the Stardust discount at 50% and report that Lucky trades roll IVs no lower than 12/12/12.
- Trade costs at Great Friends: community-tracked tables list 100 Stardust for a normal trade, about 16,000 for a Legendary or Shiny that both trainers already have registered, and about 800,000 if either trainer is missing it. At Best Friends those drop to roughly 800 and 40,000.
- Friendship pace: players report that friendship progresses at most once per day per friend, no matter how many gifts you exchange. The Rank 25 Gift bonus helps you progress more friendships in parallel, but it won’t speed up a single one.
- Kyogre’s value: community raid rankings have long placed Kyogre among the strongest Water-type attackers, with the strongest results coming from its signature move, Origin Pulse.
Practical Application: Planning Your Lucky Trinket Trade
The Trinket’s Great Friends requirement sounds generous, but at Great Friends, Stardust cost is what decides whether a trade is worth doing.
Example: you and a Great Friend both have Kyogre registered, and you each have a spare. Trading two Kyogre is a Special Trade that community tables price at around 16,000 Stardust each at Great Friends. With the Trinket active, both of you get a Lucky Kyogre, reported to have IVs of at least 12/12/12 and to power up for half the usual Stardust. That’s a strong result. If your friend didn’t have Kyogre registered, the same trade would cost about 800,000 Stardust each, which is rarely worth it.
A few rules follow from this:
- Pick the trade before you use the Trinket. Agree on the two Pokémon with your friend first, and check the Stardust cost on the trade screen.
- Use it on something you’ll actually power up. The Stardust discount is the lasting benefit. Legendaries and raid attackers gain far more than a Pokémon you’ll never use.
- Best Friends are still the better target if you have one. The Trinket works on Great Friends, but the same trade with a Best Friend costs a fraction of the Stardust.
- Schedule the meetup. The Trinket doesn’t extend trade distance, and it expires November 8. If you’re already Forever Friends with someone and have a Remote Trade available, the Remote Trade announcement confirms that a Lucky Friend trade still comes out Lucky when done remotely, and Remote Trades don’t count as Special Trades.
Getting Through the Pass
- Hold tasks for the final weekend if you’re behind. With no GO Points cap from October 31 to November 1, that weekend is the best time to catch up before the pass ends on November 3.
- Reach Rank 25 early if you trade a lot. The Gift bonus helps friendship progress across your whole list, which matters if you want more Great Friends before the Trinket arrives.
- Upgrade late if you’re unsure. Deluxe rewards from earlier ranks are claimable after upgrading, so you can decide once you know how far you’ll get.
- Claim everything by November 5. Unclaimed rewards expire two days after the pass ends. Claiming the Trinket in time doesn’t extend its November 8 expiry.
Tracking What You Trade
A Trinket trade only happens once, so it’s worth knowing exactly what you have before you commit. Which Pokémon you and a friend both have registered changes the cost dramatically, and it’s easy to forget which of your Kyogre is the good one or whether you already have a Lucky copy.
That’s the problem a tracker like GoDex is for. You can scan a catch screenshot to read CP and IVs automatically, tag Lucky, Shiny, or any other variant with custom variant tags, and add a note to your trade candidates so you know which spare is meant for which friend. After the trade, you can check how the new Lucky Pokémon’s IVs rank for the Great, Ultra, or Little Cup before spending Stardust on it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need GO Pass Deluxe to get Kyogre? No. The announcement lists Kyogre as a free-track reward. The Lucky Trinket is Deluxe-only.
Can I use the Lucky Trinket on a Good Friend? No. You must be at least Great Friends with the trainer.
If I claim the Trinket on November 4, how long do I have? It still expires November 8 at 11:59 p.m. local time. The expiry is fixed, not counted from when you claim it.
Does the Trinket let me trade from a distance? No. Distance rules don’t change. Remote Trades are a separate Forever Friends feature.
Why can’t I use my Trinket on a friend? Either you’re already Lucky Friends, you aren’t Great Friends yet, or they’ve turned off Trinket permissions in their Settings.
Key Takeaways
- Claim rewards by November 5 and use the Trinket by November 8. They’re different deadlines.
- Save a backlog for October 31 to November 1, when the daily GO Points limit is lifted.
- Plan the Trinket trade around Stardust cost. A Pokémon both trainers have registered is far cheaper at Great Friends.
- Spend the Trinket on something you’ll power up, since the lasting value is the halved Stardust cost.
- Delay the Deluxe decision if you want. Earlier-rank Deluxe rewards stay claimable after upgrading.
