Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day runs on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Mega Chandelure makes its debut in Super Mega Raids, Shiny Chandelure has an increased chance, and Chandelure can be taken all the way to the Super Max Mega Level for the first time.

Super Mega Raids are not normal raids. They need a group of at least eight Trainers, each with a Mega-Evolved Pokémon, and entry works differently from a regular Raid Pass. Most of the planning for this event is about entry resources and group size, not counters.

Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day: Confirmed Details

  • Date and time: Saturday, October 31, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
  • Raid boss: Mega Chandelure, debuting in Super Mega Raids. Chandelure can be Shiny, with an increased chance from Super Mega Raids during the event.
  • Free Raid Passes: up to six from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
  • Remote Raids: limit raised to 20, from Friday, October 30, 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, October 31, 8:00 p.m. PDT.
  • Mega Level head start: Chandelure caught from Super Mega Raids has Mega Level 1 already unlocked.
  • Super Max: Mega Chandelure can reach Super Max, the level above Max. You must reach Max first, and Mega Evolving alone won’t get you there. You also need to spend Chandelure Mega Energy.
  • New Charged Attack: while Mega Evolved, Chandelure also knows Ominous Wind+. It has 50 power in Trainer Battles, with a chance to raise the user’s Attack and Defense by one stage, and 145 power in Gyms and Raids. Its power rises with Mega Level.
  • Timed Research (free): rewards a Premium Battle Pass and a Tyranitar encounter.

See the official announcement for the full listing.

How Super Mega Raids work

These rules come from the official 2026 Mega Evolution update and apply to every Super Mega Raid. For a full walkthrough, see the Super Mega Raids guide.

  • Group size: best taken on with at least seven other Trainers, all with at least one Mega-Evolved Pokémon in their battle party.
  • Shields: the boss becomes enraged and puts up shields that cut normal damage. Your Mega-Evolved Pokémon is sent in automatically and its next attack breaks one shield. Each Trainer can only break one.
  • Shield exceptions: Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Ditto transformed into a Mega can’t break shields.
  • Entry in person: Link Charges or a Premium Battle Pass.
  • Entry remotely: a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges, both.
  • Finding raids: they may only appear at certain Gyms. The official map shows where they might appear and lists nearby community meetups.

Global Challenge

Raids completed by Trainers worldwide from Friday, October 30, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Saturday, October 31, at 8:00 p.m. PDT count toward tiers. The more tiers completed, the bigger the reward, which runs from Monday, November 2, at 12:00 p.m. PST to Sunday, November 15, at 12:00 p.m. PST:

  • Ominous Wind+ gets a base power boost for Mega Chandelure at Mega Level 1 or higher. This doesn’t apply in the GO Battle League.
  • Mega Chandelure at Super Max gets a CP boost.

Event ticket (US$4.99)

Bonuses apply only from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on October 31:

  • Up to 14 Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
  • Increased chance of Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles.
  • An extra 5,000 XP and an extra 5,000 Stardust from each Super Mega Raid.

The ticket leaves the in-game shop at 5:00 p.m. local time on October 31. It can’t be bought with PokéCoins, and you can gift it only to friends at Great Friends or higher. The Ultra Ticket Box on the Web Store costs the same US$4.99 and adds a Premium Battle Pass.

What isn’t stated

  • Whether the free Gym Raid Passes get you into a Super Mega Raid. The Mega Evolution update lists only Link Charges or a Premium Battle Pass for in-person entry. The Raid Day post doesn’t say whether the six free passes, or the ticket’s 14, work for Super Mega Raids.
  • Whether the ticket’s 14 passes include the six free ones or are on top of them.
  • Which Mega Level the Ominous Wind+ power values describe.
  • The size of the Shiny boost.
  • How Halloween 2026 Part I bonuses interact with the raids. Halloween Part I runs October 27 to November 1, and its GO Pass milestones add 2× catch Candy (Rank 10) and 2× catch Stardust (Rank 20), or 3× with GO Pass Deluxe. The Raid Day post doesn’t mention it. See the GO Pass: October guide for the pass itself.

What the Community Has Documented

  • Link Charge cost: community guides such as esports.gg report that a Super Mega Raid costs 200 Link Charges and that the Link Holder holds around 600. Check the number on the lobby screen.
  • Raid Passes in person: some community guides report that a regular Raid Pass also works for in-person Super Mega Raids. This conflicts with the official wording above, so don’t plan your day around it until you’ve tested one.
  • Ticket math: at the Falinks Super Mega Raid Day in May, which used the same bonus structure, community trackers like Leek Duck described the ticket as up to 14 free Raid Passes in total.
  • Weaknesses: Chandelure is Ghost / Fire, so Water, Ground, Rock, Ghost, and Dark attacks are super effective. It is boosted in Sunny / Clear and Fog weather.
  • Counters: counter rankings like DittoBase put Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon at the top. Both are strong attackers, but they can’t break shields, so you still need a real Mega in your party. Mega Swampert, Mega Gyarados, Mega Tyranitar, and Mega Gengar fit the weaknesses and can break shields. Mega Gengar takes super-effective Ghost damage, so expect it to faint faster.

Practical Application: Count Your Entries Before 2:00 p.m.

Example: you have 400 Link Charges, the Premium Battle Pass from the free Timed Research, and one more from the Web Store Ultra Ticket Box. If a Super Mega Raid costs 200 Link Charges, that’s four guaranteed entries for the afternoon. Any free Raid Passes are a bonus only if the lobby accepts them. Four wins of Chandelure Mega Energy gets you well on the way toward Super Max, and every catch already has Mega Level 1.

A few rules follow from this:

  • Fill your Link Holder in October. Weekly challenges, friend Gifts, and Campfire meetup check-ins all give Link Charges. Arrive near the cap, not near zero.
  • Finish the Timed Research early. Its Premium Battle Pass is a guaranteed entry, so complete it before you start raiding.
  • Buy the Ultra Ticket Box, not the in-game ticket. Same price, plus a Premium Battle Pass. If it isn’t on the Web Store by October 30, buy the in-game ticket before 5:00 p.m. on October 31.
  • Bring a Mega that can break shields. Every Trainer in the lobby needs one. A Primal is a fine attacker but doesn’t count.
  • Find your group on the official map. Super Mega Raids appear only at some Gyms. Pick a meetup in advance instead of searching at 2:00 p.m.
  • Plan the whole Halloween week. Giratina’s Raid Hour is Wednesday, October 28 (October 2026 Raid Hours), and the Gastly Spotlight Hour with 2× Evolution XP is Thursday, October 29 (Gastly Spotlight Hour guide). Don’t spend Saturday’s Premium Battle Passes on Wednesday. The full Thursday lineup is in the October 2026 Spotlight Hour schedule.
  • Use Mega Chandelure after the event. At Super Max, a Mega gives greatly increased Candy, XP, and Candy XL chance for catching Pokémon that share a type with it. Chandelure is Ghost / Fire, and the Halloween GO Pass runs until November 5.

Tracking Your Chandelure

After a three-hour Raid Day, you’ll have a stack of Chandelure with similar CP. It’s easy to lose track of which one has the best IVs, which one you’re pushing toward Super Max, and whether you caught the Shiny.

A tracker like GoDex helps. Scan catch screenshots to read CP and IVs, tag the Chandelure you’re investing Mega Energy in, and mark Shinies as you get them.

A scan also shows PvP rank for every stage of the family. A high-IV Chandelure is the one to power up for raids, but in Great League it can rank in the thousands, because a low Attack IV scores better there. The best Great League IVs for Chandelure are 0 / 15 / 14.

GoDex scan results in Great League for the Litwick family: Litwick at IV rank 121, Lampent at IV rank 2267, and Chandelure at IV rank 3134, with best IVs of 0 / 15 / 14 for both Lampent and Chandelure
A raid-quality Chandelure in GoDex: rank 3134 in Great League, where 0 / 15 / 14 is the best spread

Frequently Asked Questions

When is Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day? Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

Can I join remotely? Yes, but a remote Super Mega Raid needs both a Remote Raid Pass and Link Charges. The Remote Raid limit is 20 from October 30 at 5:00 p.m. to October 31 at 8:00 p.m. PDT.

Do the free Raid Passes work for Super Mega Raids? The announcement doesn’t say. Official entry rules list Link Charges or a Premium Battle Pass for in-person Super Mega Raids, so plan with those and treat free passes as a bonus.

Is the ticket worth it? The ticket adds 5,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust per Super Mega Raid, more Raid Passes, and a better Rare Candy XL chance, all from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. only. The Web Store Ultra Ticket Box gives the same ticket plus a Premium Battle Pass for the same price.

Can Chandelure be Shiny? Yes, with an increased chance from Super Mega Raids during the event.

What is Super Max? A Mega Level above Max. It needs Max first, then Chandelure Mega Energy to power up. It gives greatly enhanced CP, bigger same-type catch bonuses, and a 24-hour Mega Evolution rest period.
