This update adds a Raids tab. It lists the Pokémon GO raid bosses that are up right now and the ones announced next, with each boss’s perfect CP, weather boosts, and counters on one card.
The last update put perfect CP on the details screen (GoDex 1.4: Perfect CP on Every Pokémon). The Raids tab brings those numbers to the bosses you can actually battle this week, so you don’t have to look each one up.
Everything below is in version 1.5, out now on iOS and Android.
The New Raids Tab
Raids takes the place of Stats in the tab bar. Your collection stats are still there: tap the chart button at the top of your Pokémon list.
The tab groups bosses by tier: 1★, 3★, 5★, Mega, Super Mega, and the Shadow tiers. Use the pills at the top to show just one tier, or All to see everything.
The list updates on its own when a rotation starts or ends, and you can pull down to refresh it. An “Updated” line at the top shows when it last changed. If you’re offline, the tab shows the last list it loaded.
Reading a Raid Boss Card
Take Palkia, which is in five-star raids until October 27. Its card shows:
- Its types, Water and Dragon.
- Perfect CP: 2280 at level 20 and 2850 at level 25, the level raids are caught at when the weather boosts them. The level 25 figure lists the weather that boosts it, here Rainy and Windy.
- Counters: the types that are super effective against it, Dragon and Fairy. A type marked 2× is doubly super effective, like Water and Ground against Hisuian Arcanine.
So if you catch Palkia on a clear day and the catch screen says CP 2280, it’s a hundo. On a rainy day, look for 2850 instead. Pokémon GO weather boost explains which weather boosts which types.
The left side of the card is the same tile as your Pokémon list. Tap it to open the details screen, or tap its dots to mark which variants you’ve caught. For Mega raids the tile shows the Pokémon you actually catch, Charizard, with the battled form, “Mega Charizard X”, written under its types.
Upcoming Raids
Switch from Current to Upcoming to see every announced rotation and raid event, with its start time. Right now that includes Giratina (Origin Forme) and Mega Sableye from October 28, and the Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day on October 31.
Bosses that come from a one-day event show the event’s name and when it ends, so you can tell them apart from the regular rotation.
Power-Up Costs on the Evolution Cards
When you enter a Pokémon’s IVs and CP, each evolution card now shows two new things for every league:
- Max CP: the highest CP it can reach under the league’s CP limit, and the level it reaches it at. If it’s already over the limit, the card says CP OVER instead, since you can’t power a Pokémon down.
- Power-up: the stardust, candy, and XL candy it takes to get from its current level to that max.
Say you caught a Pokémon at level 20 and its Great League max is at level 30. The card shows 75,000 stardust and 66 candy. If you turn on Purified, the cost drops to 67,500 stardust, since purified Pokémon are cheaper to power up. Past level 40 the cost switches to XL candy, which is usually what decides whether an Ultra League build is worth it.
Max CP levels now stop at level 50, the same cap PvPoke uses, so GoDex ranks match what you see there.
A Simpler IV Section
The IV keypad on the details screen now starts hidden. Tap Enter your IVs to open it, and Hide to put it away. Your numbers are kept while it’s hidden.
Before you enter anything, the evolution cards show each league’s rank 1 IVs and the CP and level they reach. That gives you the target to compare your own Pokémon against.
Other Changes
- Updated Pokémon data: refreshed raid attacker and PvP rankings, plus Shadow Darkrai in your variant checklist. It loads the first time you open the app, and your collection stays as it was.
- Photo fix: the form picker on the details screen now updates straight away when you save or delete a catch photo.
Key Takeaways
- The Raids tab lists current and upcoming raid bosses with perfect CP, weather boosts, and counters.
- Match the catch screen CP to the card to spot a hundo, using the level 25 number when the weather boosts it.
- The evolution cards show what a PvP build costs in stardust, candy, and XL candy.
- Stats moved to the chart button at the top of your Pokémon list.
